Full Packing Service in Glen Rose | Joe Powell House Movers

Our crew boxes your entire home with quality supplies, leaving you nothing to pack and not a carton to lift

Boxing up a home is the job folks keep putting off until it quietly devours a Saturday and a Sunday. Just the kitchen can run a couple of days, to say nothing of the garage, the closets, the catch-all shelf in the barn, and that one drawer crammed with cables nobody recognizes. Our full packing service takes the load off entirely. A team rolls out, generally a day before you move, and boxes the place top to bottom with real supplies and a method that holds up in transit.

None of this is the toss-it-in-a-box variety. We wrap each glass and each piece of stemware on its own and nest them in divided dish-pack boxes. Framed pictures, mirrors, and TVs go into adjustable cartons made to fit them. Closet clothing rides on its hangers in tall wardrobe boxes, no folding, no wrinkles. And because this is ranch and lake country, we also box what those homes hold: the gun-cabinet contents and ammo boxes, rods and reels out of the boathouse, the mounted trophies, the bench tools, the canning jars, and the odds and ends from the feed room. A label by room goes on every box, which makes the unload at the new address quick and keeps things landing in the right spot.

Summers here carry a heat problem plenty of packers shrug at, so anything sensitive to temperature gets handled deliberately. Records and electronics are padded and held out of a hot cab right up to load time; candles and wax items get bundled up to travel cool and shaded; aerosol cans and capped bottles never go on the rig. Turn the whole house over to us or just the rooms you would rather not face, and by the time the movers return next morning it is boxed, labeled, and lined up for the truck.

“Mostly great. The crew showed up on time for our 3-bed out by the lake in Granbury and worked hard in the heat. One nightstand got a gouge against the door frame, but Joe's office called me back the next morning, sent a guy to fix it, and knocked a little off the bill without me even pushing. That kind of follow-through is why I'd still use them.”

“Moved our lake house on Granbury and these guys were careful on those steep steps down to the water. Quote didn't budge a dollar. Solid.”

“Joe came out himself to look at our 2-bed in Cleburne before quoting, which I didn't expect. The number he wrote down was exactly what we paid at the end. No add-ons, no clock games. The two movers were polite and fast and had it all loaded before lunch. Couldn't ask for better.”

Service FAQ

Do you bring every bit of the packing material?

We do. The team rolls in carrying boxes in every size, dish-packs, wardrobe boxes, wrapping paper, bubble, and tape. There is nothing for you to round up first.

Could you box only the kitchen and leave the rest?

Of course. A lot of people handle their own clothing and books while leaving the breakables, the dishware, and the kitchen to us. Point out the rooms you want us on and we will quote those by themselves.

When does the packing happen, the morning of the move?

For a full home we usually arrive the day prior, so everything is boxed and labeled by the time the movers show up. On smaller jobs we can occasionally box and move the very same day.

How do you deal with things that cannot take the summer heat?

Records and electronics get padded and stay out of a baking cab until they are loaded; candles and wax items are bundled to travel cool and shaded; aerosol cans are left behind. Once the gauge tops 100, that little bit of staging spares your belongings the warping and melting that heat can cause in transit.

Does labeling the boxes really make unpacking faster?

It changes everything about the pace. Each box names its room and what is inside, so at the new place the movers drop it in the right spot and you unpack at your own speed rather than tearing through an unmarked stack.
